Why Does This Course Need to Exist?
One of the things I love about running this company is helping people like you succeed. I have been trying to figure out a way to help businesses of your size for years. Before, IMA would work with clients and sometimes charge as little as $300 per/mo for our services. That was a great way to go broke :) Which is why we stopped. So I've been playing around with some different concepts for a few years.
The key for success for a business of your size is good, consistent marketing and some paid advertising. The challenge is that you don't have the budget to pay someone to do that good, consistent marketing. You can hire an agency to handle the paid advertising part but good agencies who work for $500 a month are few and far between (and shady crooks are living in the shadows). But a course that helps you create a strategy that will actually have impact could be great.
And for the paid advertising, we'll source and match you with a freelance media buyer that you can trust. You don't need an agency to run your Google Ads. You just need one competent, trustworthy person. We'll find that person for you.
The course will teach you how to:
Get Momentum
- How to set up, use and optimize Google Local Service Ads
- Leverage organic social channels that still offer legitimate organic reach for free
- TikTok and Ingstagram are first
- Then LinkedIn to focus on commercial work
Get Unique
- How to create a unique message that all of your content will spring from (even if you're a franchise)
Get Leads
- How to set up your own paid ad platforms correctly and why it's so important that you own them yourself.
- How to pay someone to manage your Google Ads and how not to get ripped off
- How to optimize your Google My Business account to get leads from the Local Map Pack
- How to build an email list of prospects (not customers) that you can email for free to generate business
- Understand the Traditional Advertising Evolution
- Traditional newspaper, tv and radio companies have been trying to pivot to digital ads for years. Simply put, they are not good at digital.
- If you can get a Pay Per Call lead from your newspaper rep, it might be worth testing but be sure you vet the leads you’re paying for very carefully. Also, always provide your own tracking phone number from your own Callrail account (see Get in Control)
- For radio, there are some new companies that are digitally native and can place ads on YouTube Music, Spotify, AM/FM Radio and more. The best part is that there are no sales reps or minimum budgets. They also have hyper local targeting so your ad spend isn’t wasted in areas you don’t serve
- On the TV side, there is OTT (over the top). The best place to start is YouTube ads which you can launch from your inside your Google Ads account.
Get in Control
- How to not waste money on nonsense that will never make you a penny
- Never sign long term media contracts with newspapers, radio, etc unless you have a proven, ROI-positive campaign and will save money by signing a 6 or 12 month contract.
- How to set up a referral program and increase repeat business and the lifetime value for existing customers
- How to "always be hiring" so you can staff up as the company grows
- Understand the tools you need and why you need them
